Could anyone with recent metabolic lab work tell me their Alkaline Phosphatase level? Please include the range as well. This is part of the standard blood work that gets done when your sick so it's not a strange test.
I stumbled across something that has me curious about what others here might show. I don't want to taint what folks report so I'll wait for a few results before I post.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I doubt that most people know their alk. phos. levels. It is a test that is included in the routine chemistry panel ordered by docs, but usually, the doc only checks off the major tests like sodium, potassium, calcium, etc. That way the patient doesn't have to pay for every test.......only the ones actually ordered. However, the alk. phos. test would still be done by the lab as part of the complete panel, and only if it were positive would the value be reported to the doctor.

Ah, well I get all labwork from each time I get labs done. Seems like every time I get a complete physical this lab result is there. Most times I'm at the very low end of the range, but a couple of times I've been low just out of range. Wondered what others have seen as it is pretty abnormal for it to be low out of range, most diseases are high out of range and I was wondering if others were also low or low out of range.

I'm planning to have blood workup done sometime before the end of this year- I understand our insurance will cover 100%.
Polly, I would like a super duper workup done so would I want to ask specifically for something other than just a standard blood test?
