LOL I didn't even think of that.. we can ABSOLVE each other!!! :) Wonderful wonderful wonderful :)

Shirley, I will TRY to harden up on him. I keep saying that and then he is so pathetic that I give him that *one last chance* to straighten up and fly right.. never happens.. Trent gets frustrated with me letting him walk all over us.. we bend out schedule SO MUCH for that jerk. And what do we get in return??? Well, apparently, the X thinks HE is the one bending over backwards!!! "Whatever makes life more convenient for YOU, Christine" is what I get. Sarcasm. Unappreciation. JERK!!! I can't PROMISE, but my feeling right now is I'm DONE with being *nice* to anyone, much less him!!!! You can't go around in this world leeching off the unappreciated kindness of others.. and the sooner he learns this, the better.. (wish me luck - I've asked Trent to help me with this, because he's really good about voicing his opinions and justifying things.. )

Anyway, thanks, Tex, for working with my avatar to get it to show up right :) and for adding the confessions room.. we'll see if people like it.. we can always remove it..

Christine

Your X does indeed sound like he is manipulative and I believe he knows ALL the strings to pull to make you react the way he wants.

Well he called this morning and wanted to take Hunter fishing - he gets off work at 2 and was going to pick him up from daycare and then just drop him off to us later (like 7:30 at night usually). I said NO, I have plans. I planned to take the boys to Target tonite to go Father's Day shopping since our weekend is fully booked.

He says "well it's MY weekend with him!" (yeah, that every other weekend stuff faded YEARS ago when he got his job.. )

I said "Oh, so you're going to take him ALL WEEKEND then?"

and he was like "well, no, I have to work!"

and I said "EXACTLY. This is YOUR weekend but YOU have to work, so I have him. I am going to Target tonite with both of them, so NO, you can't take him fishing. BYE."

sounds harsh, right?? ugh. I wish I could just be evil to him. He's SOOO pathetic. Anybody think I was out of line?

I'm thinking of writing up a list of rules -

We need a schedule of next week on the Friday the week before.. and no changes without 24 hours notice.

No calling me to harrass me unless it's *important* or has to do with Hunter's schedule or health.

NO insulting my husband to my son, because as JERKY as HE is, I NEVER belittle him in front of my son, and he calls Trent NAMES to Hunter!!!

You were NOT out of line - as long as you enable his actions, the longer he will continue to think he can set the rules and walk all over you!

YOU GO GIRL! You did good for your first try - Next time be a little bit meaner - it will get easier as time goes on. If you need something to fuel your anger - remember the little car - that will get you riled!

You did REAL GOOD, Christine!! Mars is right, you must stop enabling him to set the rules or break the rules.

There are times when rules should be broken but I don't think he knows the difference.
