Prayers Please
Hi everyone.
I just want to ask you all to pray extra hard for Geoff's Mom. She is back in the hospital and they aren't completely sure why she feels as bad as she does. She has inflamation in her thigh muscles, her kidney numbers are a little worse (since Tuesday) but not enough to really lead them there. It might be an infection and they hit her with IV antibiotics last night. She is diabetic and because of not feeling well, hadn't eaten and had very low blood sugar yesterday.
Geoff's a wreck. He is so worried about her. And if something happens to her, his Dad would have to go to a home and would be totally devestated from a broken heart. Worse yet, I have a full day at work with a meeting up at Middlebury College this afternoon, so I can't be here for him either.
Thanks all.
Katy

Here is the update. His mom has been moved to ICU. She isn't critical, but she is more complicated than regular med-surg. I am going home as soon as I update my boss for this afternoon's meeting. He will cover it by conference call.
They think she had a heart attack and have decided to call Geoff's brother home.
I'll keep you posted.

Katie,
My prayers are on their way to you also. It is good to know that they are on top of things by placing her in ICU - closer monitoring is a good thing.
I'll also keep my fingers crossed that it wasn't a heart attack or if it was, that it was a small one. I'm sure she will appreciate having the family together and close by. Hang in there.
Take care of yourself and Geoff.
Love,
Mars

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Katy-
Will say an extra prayer for Geoff's mom - hopefully they figure everything out and start treatment right away so she feels better. I know being diabetic can complicate medical issues (A college friend of mine was in the hospital for 7 weeks following a routine appendectomy - she got a post-op infection). Hoping for calm and peace on the homefront- take care of yourself during the stressful time!
