Rocking And Rolling In California

Post by Joyce »

We had another earthquake today. That makes three since Sunday in three different locations. One out by Palm Springs, Northern Calif., and now today out in Yucaipa (So. Calif.) I actually lived there for 10 yrs.

I was at work today when it hit. On the second floor we were really rocking and rolling. I wonder how it felt on th 7th floor???? Funny I called my tax guy that is about 20 miles from Yucaipa and he was telling me we were having an earthquake. I didn't feel anything unitl about 30 seconds later and then it hit where I was at. I'm about 20 miles from him.

The ground must really be shifting out here. Hopefully were done for a while.

Joyce,

Heard the news earlier about the quake this afternoon and within less than an hour you had 20 some aftershocks? Seems like things are shifting around a bit on the west coast. Experts are speculating now...geez, they are just so unpreditable but that leads me to a question for ya.

Are you somewhat prepared in the event of one that might cause damage in your area? Do you have an emergency preparedness kit packed and a plan for family and friends. We live in Alaska and I have one packed, and sort of a plan. It makes me feel a bit more comfortable just knowing that but it's forever in the back of my mind about "the big one" hitting. We have quakes here every month it seems. More so recently, it's just goes with living in the territory.

Thinking about you rock and rolling in CA. Keep us posted.

Love,
Joanna

That was one thing the whole twenty years I lived in California that I hated so much...was the earthquakes. They are very scarey...the only other things I consider as scarey are The watts riots(when I lived out there) a tornado/hurricaine and My ex husband. I hope you are ok and no one was hurt. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

I like rock-n-roll Joyce, but I don't like that kind!

Hope they stop or at least stay small. Stay safe!

Oh Joyce...very scary! I have been thinking that we are overdue for one in Washington. We went years without any, then had several 5.0's within 10 years and then of course the big 7.8 several years ago...that was the last one. I need to store some jugs of water and check the flashlights and re-stock my emergency kit. Take Care kiddo....JJ

Joyce,

Glad that you are well and it was pretty minor - well, for your neck of the woods anyway.

Do you do earthquake emergency procedures at work? I'm on the emergency response team here in our office. We have a number of people on the team on each floor. Our building is only five stories high and I have only actually felt one here in the office over the last five years.

Hi Joyce,

Heard the news earlier today and thought that it just seemed like too many too quick. Please take care and hopefully the shifting has stopped.

Love, Maggie

We had another one last night. Over in Northern California.

As being prepared I have flashlights and I always have extra water around. Work wise no nothing. My boss and another girl in the office are working on a disaster program. I just hope I'm not on the potty when we have one  Yesterday I went 3 times in an hour after the earthquake and hoped we weren't going to have a big aftershock.

Thanks Joanna for the reminder about being prepared. We haven't had one in so long I have forgotten about it.

Joyce......how scary for you. I hate earthquakes! Glad your safe and sound!

Hugs

Joyce Who Walks,

Whew. Scary. Please stay safe.

I am so impressed about your walking. Do you ever walk on the beach?

Love,

Polly
