Paging Joanna
Hi Joanna,
I noticed your comment on Karen's thread about always wanting to experiment to see if you can tolerate additional foods. I am the same way! Of course, I will not ever knowingly eat gluten again, but I'll occasionally try some of my other triggers. Haven't really tried dairy for a very long time, but I've always hoped that once fully healed I might be able to have an occasional piece of cheese. My mouth always waters when I read Eade's book (Protein Power) because they do allow dairy.
I also find that as long as I stick to whole, fresh foods I am fine. Why is it that just about any processed food doesn't sit well with us? Even if it has only paleo ingredients, is organic, etc? I have found some items that SHOULD be fine but they just aren't. I think Lara Bars are the only processed food I have found that I can tolerate.
I will be voting today - thanks for the reminder. Hopefully there will be a huge turnout. It always amazes me when so few vote.
Love,
Polly

Hi Polly,
It's funny, our bodies are so sensitive with this disease. I also do best with whole fresh foods- have no reactions to speak of. Like you said, even some organic processed foods that should be safe for us give me problems too. Like tomatoes, but I can eat fresh without reacting. I have no idea why this is. Yep, gluten is no longer apart of my diet. Bad mojo. I'm off all grains for good too.
Speaking of voting, if voters in Arizona today pass proposition 200 it will authorize the nations first ballot box lottery in which a $1-million prize will go to one randomly selected Arizona voter. The measure is the brainchild of a 54 year old Tucson attorney and ophthalmoligist who said his idea will increase voter turnout. I think it's brilliant! I bet it is going to pass.
By the way, I wanted to thank you. If you google= microscopic colitis paleo diet= or = paleo diet microscopic colitis= take a look at what comes up as the first url!
You have forever linked MC & Paleo Diet and this is a good thing! Hope it helps others out there with similar food intolerences...
Love,
Joanna

Joanna,
That's an interesting observation on the Google search. I notice that this topic is number 6 on the list that comes up in that search, and your medical profile on this discussion board is number 7, so you've done your part, also.
Love,
Tex

Well, I'll be darn Tex !
DUH.....I didn't notice that before, guess I was just so excited when I saw Polly's post on Eades blog that I didn't look past the first url. That looks like my profile from Sally's board. BTW, has anyone heard from Sally lately?
Thanks for pointing that out. It's so interesting the way the net works.

Hi Joanna,
I thought I might be going blind for a minute there when you said that was your profile from Sally's Board, so I did the search again , and noted that the URL is to this site, not Sally's, and when I clicked on the link, sure enough, it took me to your medical profile on this site.

Tex,
I'm cornfused too. When I google =paleo diet microscopic colitis = the links 6,7,8 are to this forum and our real time conversation and my medical profile that I transfered from Sally's board a long time ago.
But, when I google =microscopic colitis paleo diet= a link brings us to a medical profile I started on Sally's board and transfered here.
The net is amazing at gathering our conversations.
Hope you all voted today.

Joanna

Ain't technology grand?
Had to vote twice...couldn;t count to 15 for the Justice of the Peace category the first time around and voted for 16.
So far I'm happy with the local election results too. And also glad we voted for JPs. Geoff and I plan to ask the retired fire chief who is also a JP to do our wedding (Geoff's Dad "grew up" with Puggy in the fire department and we hear he does a really nice ceremony). But we were worried he'd completely retire! But he was there on the list. Hopefully he makes the cut. I'm sure he will, but I will be happy to see it listed in the paper tonight.

It is sooooo neat that we come up like that when you google "paleo diet microscopic colitis".
By the way, Joanna & Tex, I only googled the order of the words above and I saw both the link for Joanna's profile here AND the one on Sally's old board. Ours was listed first though.
Love, Shirley
