DO I APPEAR STUPID!!!!

U all wanna know why I am depressed---dont give a damn about anything?? Well here is one issue!!!

---my daughter Lynn calls me up and says DONT mention to Kait about what she is thinking of doing to herself!!!

Well, sure Lynn I am gonna go up to my grandaughter and say *gee I hear U want to do away with yourself!!!!! How about we talk about this!!!
Does she think I am that dumb!!!!
U all have no idea HOW much I want to tell her where to go!!!
I KNOW that betraying a confindence is not the way to go---and if I ever did something like that Kait might *clam* up to her therapist--
Well smack *stupid-grams* on the head!!!!
Then DONT call me and relate all this confidence~~~~My nerves are shot----
This is the 3rd Wednesday in a row---that Louie has picked Kait up @ college*7a.m.*, to bring her for her cranial treatments---and the 3RD Wed. where upon arrival---they look @ him and say--Kait has no treatment scheduled!!!!!

Now it is set for tomorrow!!!!!!!!
This is and thats why I a get so furious with my daughter because she takes things for granted!!!! US-

Dear Barbara,

I'm new to all of this, so I haven't been following everything that's preceeded this incredible frustration. I'm really sorry that you're feeling so stressed and desperate. Try to remember to take care of you - you can't change Lynn no matter how much you wish it. My therapist is telling me that all the time! So, just passing his wisdom on to you in hopes that it might give you a little reprieve.

MS Columbo.....Anyone that took you for Stupid Must be really Dumb. You are very far from stupid. I have no Idea what is in Lynn's head (Sounds Selfish to me) but don't let her make you feel that way. You are only responsible for you and your actions. And right now I am sure things seem pretty wild and you want to throw a and maybe you should....but remember we all here on the board believe you are a very dignified, upstanding, lovely very sane good friend and person. Glad you can "vent" here and really glad that you do. I know you feel like a pressure cooker at times but keep on letting off some of that steam here, OK.

We all know you aren't stupid and kids can be quite insensitive at times. Seems like Lynn is pretty good at being insensitive but she has a lot on her shoulders also. I wish things were better for you.

Is there some way you and Lou could check on the appointments before he drives all that way. You know Lynn isn't going to do it.

OMG Barbara - does it ever end????

I agree with what everyone else has said - NO, NO, NO you are NOT stupid!!!! Nor have you ever APPEARED stupid (unless we are talking the good ole' days with the puter!) Are you laughing yet????

I think Lynn should also see the Therapist - not only with the stress of Kait's illness/sickness but to learn to deal with her Kait's mental health.

It isn't fair how our children continue to dump on us when they leave the nest, is it? I know mine do and most times it's their selfishness or tunnel-vision (thinking only of themselves without thinking of those they drag into their problems). I truly hope things change soon for all of you.

I think Shirley has an excellent idea - YOU or LOU call the doctor the day before or the morning of, her appointment before he makes the long drive. It can't be good for Kait or Lou (except their being able to spend time together).

Remember to take care of yourself - YOU are important to all of us and only YOU know what you need. Remember you are loved and we don't mind you venting here with us. That is what family is for!
