Priobiotic Recommended to Me

Post by MaggieRedwings »

Afternoon All,

Guess it is the time of the year when I start questioning everything about my health and me. The following probiotic was highly recommended to me by a friend who has IBS (or the doc says so) and want to know if you have any opinions on it. She says it "has saved her life." A little extreme but you never know.

Any opinions are most welcome.

Thanks, Maggie

I think this the other one my Dr recommended, but looking at the contents I'm not sure why. It only contains 1 bacteria type. The other problem he told me about was that it was expensive. So if you're missing this one bacteria perhaps it will help, otherwise I don't see how it would help much. Though I suppose if your only problem was lactose intollerance then it would help a lot.

The other one he recommended to me was the Garden of Life products Primal Defense. I'm taking the Ultra version. Seems ok so far.

Mike,

According to the product description, (if I'm reading it correctly), the Bio-Kaps only contain lactobacillis acidophilus, but the original version contains Lb. acidophilus and Lb. casei. There's a dairy-free version, but unfortunately, it contains soy, which is sorta like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
