Bush fire at Caloundra

Post by Liz »

There have been bush fires not far north of us at a beach town called Caloundra . My daughter sent me these pics. A bit scary, & summer is only just beginning. Homes were under threat but fortunately it is all under control now.

Scary and dramatic pictures! Hope it isn't a taste of things to come. Are you in a drought?

By the way, glad you got to go and enjoy Cirque de Soleil. They were in our town and I didn't get there! Friends all loved it.

How are you feeling?

Hi Kathy
It is scary & we are in drought, the worst for hundreds of years. I can't remember it being as dry as it is now. It is the first day of summer today so things don't look too great. We havn't had a decent wet season down here for ages even though they have had cyclones last season. Heres hoping we get something this year. The dams are at their lowest ever, one about 20% capacity. We had the plumber come yesterday to check our taps & fit a watersaving shower head on our outside shower. We don't actually shower out there in the nuddy, it is for when we or the kids come off the beach.

Varakai was marvelous & I would like to go again before they finish on the 16th. Would recommend it to anyone. The whole thing, even the thearte of it with every single person playing their part. I could go on & on.

I am a bit up & down healthwise but I have come to accept that as my lot & go on with my life. My GP is marvelous & keeps a close watch on me. I see her every fortnight.

Love

Liz
