Bl**dy car%$#**

Post by Liz »

We set off for the airport at 2pm to see Nik off & only got as far as Burpengary, about 20 mins away when my car just came to a stop. Called RACQ who arrived nearly an hour later who called tow truck. Tow arrived after another hour to take us to mechanical place back at Caboolture. Had to wait for taxi then to get home. Arrived home at 5.15pm. Managed to talk to Nik on mobile but not the same as giving her a hug & waving goodbye. It was fortunate that I was able to coast to the side of the road. If it had been 100 metres more down the road we would have been in real trouble as they are upgrading the highway & there are barriers on each side & we would have been blocking one lane of very heavy traffic. Bit scary trying to get out with all the big semis speeding past. Just as well too that I was driving for a change as Robert would have been in the outside lane & that is where we would have stayed.
The thing is, we had booked it in to have the timing belt changed after Christmas but it beat us to it. You are suppose to change it after 120.000 ks & had only done 80.000. Just hope no damage has been done to the motor. I would be lost without my wheels. I love my little car & Robert always has a joke about his being the better car. He had a field day on this one.

Oh, Bummer!! I despise car trouble as I'm sure everyone else do also.
Sorry you didn't get to see your granddaughter off but I know she understands.

Bummer!!!! Automobiles can be a real pain (and a drain on the pocketbook) when they act up. Unfortunately, we can't do without them, can we.

Hoping your bill will be less than expected.
