Fatigue and caffeine

Post by Beth »

Hi everyone,

Man, this is a bad bout of this whole thing. I am so tired right now I could cry. So, the question is, do I down a sugar-free Red Bull so I can get some work done? Or do I go back to bed and continue to be frustrated that I'm not meeting my writing deadline? Am I slowing down my healing if I drink something to stay awake, especially if that something has caffeine and aspartame and Vitamins B 6 and 12? I'm beyond frustrated and really at a loss as to how to get better.

Thanks,
Beth

Hi Beth,

I'm no fan of aspartame, but I really don't think that the caffeine will adversely affect your healing. I drank a lot of cokes when I was trying to stay alert enough to work on bad days, while I was reacting regularly. Sometimes, though, I had to give in and take a little "power nap", in order make it through the day.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Except that my power naps last two hours, and in the past few days I've needed two of these long, long naps! I'm going to try a Red Bull, then, if you think it's not that bad. Need to get something done around here.

Thanks, Wayne.
