Thanks for posting this. I had the same problem last night, and wondered if it was just a temporary server glitch, but apparently it's not, since it's still there.
For some time, there's been a known bug in the php code related to certain BBCode options. I thought the last version upgrade took care of it, but apparently there's still a problem somewhere. Evidently Tessa triggered the bug when she added a post to that topic yesterday.
I looked at the code on line 287 in the phpbb2/includes/bbcode file, and I don't see anything wrong with it. I also compared the line of code on the server, with the same line from that file in a backup copy from several months ago, and they appear to be identical.
This is the code on that line:
My knowledge of php code is fairly limited, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that line itself. I'm pretty sure that the problem lies with one of the variables, ($patterns, $replacements, or $text), but tracking it down could be a real hair-puller.
If you, (or anyone else), can see something that I'm overlooking, please let me know.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
That last line made me laugh.
