Large Rats?

Post by annie oakley »

Mike had put a box of De-con out in the small barn where the Icebox and freezer are. And of course we have rodents that visit the Barn all the time, not to mention other critters. I keep all my things in plastic Box containers, and it's a good thing because a couple days after Mike put the decon out there he went back out there, and the whole Box of decon is Gone. SO they must be BIG rats or a coon carried it off.

Tree rats, (squirrels), sometimes go for that stuff, too.

Think so? Maybe you are right. I just never thought of that before. It was just strange. I told Mike to Put another box out there tied to an anval and see if they take it, and if they do then I can worry Right? Love Oma :barbell:

Oma,

I once had "something" taking package after package of rat bait. After a few weeks, I figured out what it was, when he started leaving pecans, so that he could carry the packages. I guess he was burying it, the way they do pecans and other squirrel chow, because surely he couldn't eat that much, without fatal consequences.

Love.
Tex

P S If whatever is taking the bait, takes that anvil, I suggest you STAY AWAY FROM THAT BARN! LOL.

Tex I once had a packrat that stole my jewlery and silverware. He got a fatal does of De-con and Coke syrup. AFter he and his mate were dead, I found several expesive rings and shinny things from around the house in their nest.
You're right tho....if the Anvil is missing I will send the gret Hunter (Mike ) out there to get meat from the freezer. He can take his deer rifle or shotgun, I might go if I get the shotgun to carry.
Got to go, watching the rose parade. Love to all Oma
