Hi Sally!

Post by Alice »

So great to hear from you again! And to know that you're ok.....better than ok with Alain! I love French so he must be ok.

I lurk here mostly - still knee deep in care-giving, now with my dad. We're moving him down here because my sister's burned out. Another high stress situation.

Keep in touch! I'm forever indebted to you for the old board and my sanity.

Love,
Alice

Hi, Alice!

Good to hear from you. I am very sorry about your father. That is a tough row to hoe, don't I know it. Try to get some time to yourself, if you can. Otherwise you will burn out, too.

I can't figure out how to work the colors. Just a minute.

Did that work?

Take care of YOURSELF!!

Love, Sally

Morning Alice,

So sorry to hear about your father and I know you and your sister have been splitting the duties for a long time but your burden now has gotten harder. Burden is not meant as a bad word but is just a reality. Please take time for yourself every day or burn out may overtake you too.

Love to you and Bruce, Maggie

Hi Maggie,

I'm actually looking froward to getting my dad down here, because I think we can make life better for him; and my sister needs badly to recuperate.

I know it will be more work and stress, but it's my turn. He'll be in a state-of -the-art Alzheimer's facility about 20 minutes from our house.
It's so much better than the place he's in now. Bruce is a wonderful support to me and gets along really well with dad.

Cindy (sister) is having a hard time letting Dad go. It took her a long time to make the decision that it's for the best.

Say hi to Frank and enjoy your gardening!!

Alice

Alice,
My heart aches for you and your sister. It is so sad to watch a loved one progress with Alzheimer's disease.

I certainly agree that he will be better off in the type of facility you mentioned. We couldn't get my Dad into one of those due to "no openings". He certainly wasn't in the best place for someone in his condition. Thankfully he was there only about 3 months before the end.

So glad Bruce is supportive and understanding. That helps a lot.
