Hi Mrs. Columbo,
Some of the emoticons, (such as the thumbsup and thumbsdown, and the smilie), are motionless, (which is the way they are supposed to be). The others you posted, though, are pretty active on my computer, (now that my browser is working properly again).
Hmmmmmmmm. Regarding the chat, which browser are you using?
Love,
Galahad

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Mrs. Columbo,
I tested IE 6, and it works fine for me, with the chat room, but I don't have a copy of IE 7 to try. I would download a copy, but it takes forever on this dialup connection. Maybe Mars tested IE7. I know she said that she tried IE, but I don't believe she mentioned the version.
Be sure that you have Java turned on, (allowed). in your browser.
Luve,
Galahad

Hi Oma,
All the browsers are free these days, if you download them. You can download IE 7 at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
or, you can order a CD from that site, for $9.50, if you don't want to download it, (it takes a long time to download on a dial-up connection).
You can download the latest version of Firefox at:
http://www.mozilla.org/download.html
Note that Firefox is only a browser, (it does not include an email client), Thunderbird is Mozilla's stand-alone email client. SeaMonkey is a suite that includes both a browser and an email client. Most people who use Mozilla products, use Firefox and Thunderbird, rather than SeaMonkey. On a dial-up connection, especially, Firefox downloads much faster than IE, and it also performs noticeably faster, when you're using it.
An added advantage for Firefox and Thunderbird, is that most viruses and security issues seem to be directed at Microsoft products. IE is an excellent browser, though, it's just not as fast as some of the other browsers.
Love,
Tex

Liz,
Thanks for that information. It looks as though various things, or combinations of things, can prevent the chat from loading. We just have to go down the list of possible problems, and keep trying solutions, till we find one that works.
I haven't used IE in a long time, (except for testing purposes, of course), but according to what I've read, IE 7 has incorporated some of the features that Firefox has had for a long time, such as tabbed browsing. I just never did like the way it seemed to be so slow.
