Five Star ***** Book Recommendation

Post by artteacher »

I am starting a book called "The Protein Power Lifeplan" by Michael and Mary Eades, MD's.

It has the most understandable descriptions of:
saturated, mono, poly, omega 3, omega 6 oils
what happens to nutrients as they move through the digestive tract
minutes per day of sunlight providing vit. D, & benefits
how they help people with colitis in their clinic (90% are helped)
lectins and people sensitive to them

It includes SO many things we've discussed, including the paleo diet.

Please run to the library or bookstore. If you have questions, I'd be happy to look it up in the book and post . . .

Love Marsha

This is the same Michael and Mary Eades who are cohorts of Loren Cordain - right?

I agree - these guys know what they're doing. Thanks for posting that.

Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Marsha,

I have the book and agree with you that it is on target with many of our identified issues! Isn't that the book that has the BEST discussion of how to interpret cholesterol/HDL/LDL results? A lot of MDs could benefit from reading that book, I think.

Love,

Polly

P.S. I bought it after you let us know about the Eades'.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Yep. I like their scientific approach to diet.

Morning Marsha,

Thanks for the recommendation. I just went on Amazon.com and ordered it for $0.34 and with shipping only $3.23. I tend to always order used books in Very Good condition and for the most part they wind up being new. Gave up ordering new books years ago.

Looking forward to the ease of explanation for both me and Frank.

Thanks Again and Love, Maggie

Are you saying that the book cost you 34cents? and the shipping was 3dollars? That's amazing.

I especially love the description of omega-3 and omega-6 oils, saturated oils, and exactly why they're named as such, and why some oils are better than others for you. NOW it makes sense.

Yes, they endorsed the Paleo Diet books by Cordain, and wrote the Protein Power Plan book. And yes, my husband is bac on that diet, and lost 5 pounds the first week. Without starving.

HI Marsha,

Yep 34 cents and with shipping less than $3.50. Try Amazon.com and always look at used books. I have probably ordered more than 50 used books from them - various dealers and the dealer ships to you - and only have received 1 book that was less than very good. I always used them for ordering books at my last job since we had to give one to each manager I sometimes order 15 or more of each book. Saved us tons of $$.

Love, Maggie
