Salisbury Steak

Post by Dee »

Take 1# lean ground beef, 1/3 cup GF bread crumbs, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 egg beaten, 1 tsp. salt & 1/4 tsp. pepper and combine and make into 4 patties. Brown in skillet on both sides about 10 minutes.
Then take 2 cups GF beef broth and 1 large onion that is thinly sliced,
1 cup of sliced mushrooms and add that to the skillet and heat until boiling, and then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the patties and add 3 tablespoons of whatever thickening you use with 3 tablespoons of water and add that to the beef broth mixture. Put the patties back in the skillet and simmer another 10 minutes.
I have been using arowroot for my thickener in gravies, etc....
Serve these with mashed potatoes....
