Not sure why this is the first time I've seen this letter, but very interesting. Eh? :)

Hi Mike,

According to scratch test, I'm allergic to wheat (2 on a 1-4 scale). The allergist was one of the most caring docs I've met. He sent me home with info about celiac disease and thought I should pursue diagnosis with a gastroenterologist. But then I didn't test as sensitive to dairy or eggs (& I have problems with those, too)

Love, Marsha

That is interesting. Thanks.

MC seems to be all over the map doesn't it?

Not to change the subject, but found an article which I'm having trouble accessing. If anyone has better luck please post it.

Article is about Collangenous Colitis and possible link to Isotretinoin usage, which is a medication commonly used for acne.

Well, given that this can effect skin cell growth I can see how it would effect the "skin" of the digestive system as well. Seems that too much Vitamin A might do the same as well.

Hi Joanna,

That's a French article, and the full text doesn't appear to be available on the net.

If you're interested in Isotretinoin usage as a possible trigger for MC, check out article number 15, in this list. Also, check out article number 7, for information on another nasty side effect of Isotretinoin, known as hypertriglyceridemia, which may be a cause of pancreatitis (The article you cited is number 17):

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
