muffins
My daughter-in-law puts black strap molasses in muffins. I have eaten them and they are very good, though a little on the heavy side. I think cooking with it (that is, hiding it among other ingredients!) might be your best bet.

OMG!!!! When I saw those faces I was sitting here cracking up!!! Now, every time that I think about it I'm gonna laugh!! Which is a good thing!!!!
Sure you can mix a tablespoon in tea, if you're a tea drinker and whatever else you'd want to give it a try on. I've had the muffins made with it and they aren't bad...
I really think you'd get the same benefit with plain molasses too. I'll do a little investigating and let you know!!

Sisbarb,
Her are a few more old-fashioned tips for greatly increasing your iron intake without using those miserable pills:
1. Cook food in an iron skillet - especially anything acidic like tomato sauce/Spaghettios, etc. The acid pulls iron off of the pan and into the food.
2. Drink a vitamin C drink (like O.J., etc.) whenever you eat foods that contain iron - like leafy greens, meat, food cooked in the iron skillet, etc. This increases absorption of the iron.
3. Go easy on the tea. Tea contains oxalates which interfere with iron absorption.
Hope this helps.
Love, Sispolly

Morning Barbara,
I know I am an odd person and I know it was a weird taste, but I love it straight. I am not one who likes things sweet and I sometimes just spread it on toast. Would be good in yogurt I would presume and also in smoothies, or other liquid drinks - tea, etc.
It is absolutely great in pumkin pie and roasted carrots.
Love, from Weird Maggie
