Well.....here I sit ready to go to work. Called the Hwy Patrol, and they say if it is not necessary to be on the road, stay off. So here we are drinking coffe waiting to call in to work. There's at leat 1/2 in Ice on the ground (dirt and Grass) so who know what the pavement looks like I don't do Ice well. There's no job worth killing myself on Icey roads.
Anyway we are staying indoors til we can get out to get extra propane.
Love to you all

May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
Good Morning!!
Very good idea to stay inside and safe. I would imagine even walking on that ice is dangerous!!! I don't do ice well while driving!!! I just go slow and let the butt-heads that are in a hurry go around me!!!
It's heavy rain and high winds here today in Norhteast Ohio.. Not sure how much of the freezing part we are supposed to get.. The last I saw on the news it looked to be going north of us..
Stay Safe!!!!

Hi Oma, me too! The sleet started a couple hours ago and the salt trucks haven't been up my road yet. The in town roads are probably fine, but I was feeling a bit under the weather when I got up anyway. I am lucky and can work from home some, so will get a few tasks out of the way while I'm here.
Or I'll curl up with the cats next to the wood stove I just started with my book!

In my neck of the woods, we had a lot of rain during the early part of the night, and then a lot of freezing rain and sleet, after midnight. The ground is still sorta warm, so the roads are fairly decent at this point, (though everything else is coated with ice and sleet). The roads may get bad later today, though, since it's 27 degrees at 11 AM, (which is 3 degrees colder than it was at sunup), and the predicted high is 28, with an 80 % chance of freezing rain and sleet. I wish it would snow, while it's at it. Ice and sleet aren't near as much fun. LOL. I'll bet that we'll see some snow here, tomorrow or Wednesday
The forecast shows the temps to remain below freezing until sometime Wednesday, so I'll bet that even Houston will get some icing, before it's over. I hope the cold air doesn't make it all the way down into The Rio Grande Valley, because on top of the damage that is already occurring in the citrus groves in California, that could make the prices of some fruit go through the roof. They have a good chance of rain in the forecast, also, so that may save them from a major freeze risk.

Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
It's still raining in North Central Ohio. It has rained for days here. I guess I should be glad it isn't freeing rain or sleet or snow. We do have a lot of flooding here though. It has been a very strange winter here.
Stay safe everyone!

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Same here. First we almost dried up and blew away, last summer and fall, and now we may need to build an ark. El Niño seems to be rompin' and stompin', for sure.Mars wrote:It has been a very strange winter here.

Saw the report on your weather on the news here. That El Nino sure is making a nuisance of itself all over. Blizzards & floods, droughts & storms. The whole weather pattern seems to have gone crazy all over the world. Bushfires are bad here, especially in Victoria. There are Canadian & New Zealand firefighters here & now Americans are coming here to help.
The Canadians reckon that they have not seen such a huge fire as one of them that it raging through Victoria. The other states can not do much to help as they have their own fires to contend with so we are glad of assistance from other countries.

Wow! You must really be having a time of it, to attract firefighters from around the world. I wish we could send you some of this rain, then you wouldn't need the firefighters.
