Our quick trip to Denali was awesome. The word MEDITAION fits right in. It is such a beautiful place and we saw alot of wildlife up close and personal, right in front of us. Moose, Caribou herds, Bears ( one in particular that was fun was a Grizzlie Mom with 3 cubs that were not more that 3 weeks old) Dahl Sheep and can't forget to mention a number of fun loving foxes. Lots of birds too.

The mountains are so hard to describe- just a very humble experience. I'm glad we had the comforts of the motorhome. We met many hardy folks that had been backpacking and literally surviving on their own merits in the mountains for up to a week way beyond any point that is permissable to drive into.

Glad to be home. Love, Joanna

Jill,

It's nice to hear from you and I see you like the mountains by your picture. My Mother grew up in the Tacoma area of Washington and I remember washing dishes at my Grandparents house when I was very young and looking out the kitchen window and seeing MT. Rainier. My grandparents are buried in Bellvue, Washington along with many other desendents.

Hope you are well. Love, Joanna

Hi Joanna

Hi Joanna...good to hear from you. Yup, I'm spoiled by having Mt. Rainier off in the distance....I never get tired of its beauty....but, "your" mountain is pretty cool too! Hey, Where in Tacoma did your mom grow up?

I spent the day at a friend's cabin on the Carbon River....near Mt. Rainier Park. It was cloudy, but still very calming to be out in nature....we walked around and crossed part of the river on a primitive log bridge....my friends were not impressed when I offered to do my "Dirty dancing" log dance, ha ha. It was so wonderful...no phones, electricity, or running water....ahhhhhh...I could have spent at least a week out there. Take care, bye for now....Jill

Jill,

Don't know the area well, but they lived near Green Lake. We walked around that lake many times, with my grandfather and my parents. Have such nice memories of their home and the times we were there.

Nice to know you have a primative spirit- I did not know that until your post here. It's a short hop up to AK for you, and not too expensive so if you would like to dance around the fire with me, I would feel honored.

I think Lannie has picked out a picture for me which I have not looked at yet, that will show with my post. Will see how good she did...

Joanna

 Welcome home and really glad the trip was so enjoyable. It sounds wonderful to see all the wildlife up close like that.
Give Lannie a hug for me - OK.

Hi Shirley, it really was a great trip and just as soon as "sleeping beauty" awakens, I'll give her a hug from you. Geez, it's 8:30am here, so she should be up soon. Alans working today so we have a girls day today. Plan to work on a school project of Lanni's and hopefully do some gardening, weather permitting. Hi to Bill.

Love,
Joanna
