I swear that gluten is like the perfect storm, it does a whole heck of a lot of things that compromise the body.

So amoung those things listed in the article we also have the fact that wheat produces opiates (as does casein/dairy). Not only do you get addicted to it, but it also decreases gut motility thus alowing for bad bacteria to get a foothold among other things.

Can't help but agree with you based on my experience and from what I read. Gluten has always intirgued me, it was such a very big part of my diet before I was DX with CC. I ate tons of it, and I mean tons....

It might have been for me, the perfect storm to trigger MC.

This is a VERY good article on gluten and such, rather lengthy and in pfd format.

Page 23 is interesting, it lists obervations of 7 medical viewpoints of understanding gluten sensitivites and celiac disease.

I'm not sure how that happened, because when I tried your pdf link again, the computer asked me if I wanted to open it with a PDF program, (which is the correct response for a pdf file).

Anyway, yes, that's an excellent site. It's a relatively new site, isn't it? It seems to primarily deal with cases that fail the classic celiac blood and biopsy tests, but present with gluten sensitivity, nevertheless. Apparently the site owners have personal experience with the absurdity of gluten challenges. Their 22 year old daughter tried one, and had some ugly consequences. Even so, she still tested negative to both the blood tests, and a SI biopsy.

Thanks for the articles Joanna and Mike.

I know I have to not tell my Dr. about avoiding gluten or I risk them not treating me as a rational human being. It almost seems to infuriate them that I won't start eating it again. Very strange.
