Ouch!!!! Menu Help Will Be Needed

Ouch!!!! Menu Help Will Be Needed
Morning All,
I am going to need some help with soft menu come 2/21/06 that will still give me some protein and whatever else you think I will be able to handle.
At 3:00 PM on 2/21/06 I will be having 11 bottom teeth pulled, my gums cut in 4 places so Tortes can be ground down (tortes are sort of pyramid forms that can grow on mouth bone - guees what , 80% women 20% men ratio for this - another woman thing) and then the gums sewn and to top it all off, the plate immediately put in. I have already done the tops but no cutting gums.
I am going to be hard pressed to be Paleo & GF and get through probably a week or more when I will really not be able to chew. I have thought of Imagine soups which are pretty smooth, Butternut squash, Kozy Shack puddings (GF), hate the thought but maybe yogurt, and God knows what else. I need to be able to find something for lunch - maybe the yogurt? and breakfast could be tough.
Please give me any ideas you have so I can get some provisions in the larder prior to this event. I am taking off Thursday and Friday afterwards because I just really will not be able to talk and I know what the pain level is.

WoW, that sounds very intimidating!!!
I think the soups you mentioned are a good idea. How about making some smoothies.
I like to drink chicken broth when I am in a situation where I really don't want to eat. (oops, forgot - vegan).
Gee Maggie, sounds like you are in for it for a few days until your gums heal up some.

I thought of smoothies but they seem to mostly contain bananas which I am extremely allergic to - 911 call for shock. If anyone can suggest one without banana I am really open to that idea.
I have started eating fish but I cannot forget vegan. The chicken broth is a great suggestion but I cannot tolerate the thought of chicken or red meat. Not even as a kid growing up. That would just be more than I could overcome. The fish I thought about putting in a soup and blending it to mush and getting it down that way.
I love the smoothie idea though.

How about a walk down the baby food aisle? Or if you have a blender or food processor, purees of your favorite foods might be the trick. guacamole is rather smooth. If the yogurt problem a taste preference? I like the Stoneyfield Farm smoothie yogurts. They are gf and have a very drinkable consistency.

Oh Mags, that does not sound like fun.
I'd avoid yogurt and pudding, since both contain casein, and I'll bet anything you can't tolerate any dairy at all, since it is the most likely intolerance after gluten around here. Of course, this also means no Reece's cups, no cheese, no milk chocolate. WAH. Be careful with the Imagine soups since many of them are made with soy.
How about making up a bunch of homemade soups? - using onions/garlic sauteed in olive oil, adding 6-8 cups of veg, broth, and cooking abiout 2 pounds of any veggie in it - like broccoli, carrots, asparagus. Then puree it all in a blender and you have a thick, creamy, non-dairy soup.
Baked sweet potatoes would be good. I like Katy's baby food and guacamole ideas. Are you still eating eggs? If you are eating paleo, then I assume you are eating no grains at all - not even rice, right? (BTW, I felt SO much better once I cut all grains out). Fish is one of the healthiest foods we can eat. How about using canned wild salmon (which is very low on mercury) to make salmon cakes - someone recently posted a recipe here using potato as a filler. Of course, white potato is not a paleo food, but many of us seem to do OK with them if eaten in occasionally.

I am figuring - based upon when top teeth were done - that I will probably need soft - very soft - food for at least 7 days. Yogurt is definitely out since dairy is not my thing being a vegan. If and when I do have cream or KozyShack GF pudding, I have been OK with it. Reese's have been absent from the diet for ages and cheese went by the board with Paleo.
I probably will make soup and freeze it but wanted to have a fun weekend before the torture but it seems it will be a cooking weekend.

Actually, I thought you could put most anything you liked in a smoothie.
Can you handle coconut milk? I remember using that in some when I was making smoothie's last year. Frozen fruit of your choice. Whatever....

The seafood chowder I make that Frank is hooked on, I made yesterday and blended and he is a wonderful bisque. That will be on the menu.
Great idea on cocoanut milk and will use it in the smoothie. Picked up frozen fruits for the smoothie and will add some juice and the cocoanut milk.
Got some baby food in and also frozen cooked BN squash. Won't be able to talk a lot at first and don't want to try and get cooking it across to Frank.
