Cough Syrup?

Any of you have a cough syrup of choice? I find that cold medicine gives me less than wonderful poop. Like you need one more thing on top of a bad cold! Thoughts?

Katy-----I read on labels --if high blood oressure DO NOT TAKE--DUH!!

and it suggested to only take Cough med. with just guaifenesin---

so now,with GP's ok, I buy MUCINEX---ingrediant just Guaifenesin---
its a time released bi-layered tablet and I found it to be great--
Doesnt upset my inners either--and it does a great job----

check it out---all drug stores carry it--

Hi Katy!
I always get mine from my PCP. It's called Codi-Clear and it is the best that I have ever had.. I have to watch the OTC ones because of other meds that I take.

Beleive it or not, the one cough stuff I took this time that helped better than the codene stuff was, Robitussin-DM, I had the tesslon pills but decided to take the Robitussin-DM. Love Oma

That's what I usually take, (Robitussin-DM), on the rare occasions when I get a cough.

Robitussin works, but gives me the runs, same as the Nyquil. I must react to some ingredient in cough syrup.

I made it through last night with just cough drops (and the last one at 10pm at that!). So hopefully, the cold is turning the corner and I can start getting some sleep. I felt icky yesterday but I think a lot of it had to do with being tired because I can't lie in a comfortable position or I start coughing.

Robitussin-DM also gives me the runs but really does clear up my head. Instead of my nose running, my butt does.
