Fellow Ohioans..........

Post by Mars »

Hey everyone,

Let me know how you guys do in this weather we are expecting.......we (N. Central area) are expecting up to 14 inches beginning tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!!! YIKES The weather station says 1 inch per hour - worst storm of the season. Hopefully the wind will change directions and we won't get what they are calling for. :xfingers:

Love,
Mars

Hi Mars,

I apologize for reading your post, when I'm not even from Ohio, (though I did visit there once, many years ago). When I saw the title, I was just afraid that you Ohioans might be plotting something, and I thought I'd better check to see if I needed to leave the country, or something. LOL.

Seriously, that sounds like some unpleasant weather headed your way. I kinda doubt the wind will change, though, because it's supposed to come through here sometime tomorrow or the next day. They're not predicting any precip here, though, just cold and windy.

I hope you can stay warm, and not have to get out in it.

Love,
Tex

It's heading our way too. We have yet to see expected accumulations but the storm is supposed to start in the wee hours tonight through to Thursday morning. We often get bigger accumulations after the storm has headed out to sea from the extra moisture that gets fed into the back side of the storm. But considering we've had only about 6 inches of snow this year, its okay. WE've got Geoff's folks lined up to watch the girls if school gets cancelled or they get an early release tomorrow or Thursday.

It is already here in PA but they are not calling for great accumulation but then again, it has started about 10 hours before they predicted so who knows. Our county is expecting 6+ inches and then about an inch of ice on top of it. I have a breakfast event tomorrow morning that I am hosting, so that should be just a joy.

Love, Maggie

Hi Mars,

Cincinnati has kind of closed down, which makes me chuckle, being from Mn.
When I was growing up, nothing ever closed down! And we had ten times worse weather.
Our street is clear, as are the freeways. I'll go about my usual schedule. So we're fine. Kids love it - no school again!

The snow started earlier than expected. It's 1 pm here now and most factories have closed 2nd and 3rd shits, schools were closed before it hit and doctors, county and city offices were closing at noon. Larry is off of work for the night - the roads have been designated a level 2 which is stay off of the roads unless you have to be on them.

Roads are actually "plow your way through" with no obvious lanes. Slippery and it's continuing to snow. We are expecting 8-10 inches tonight and another few inches tomorrow morning. The wind gusts are 20-20 mph and it's cold.

I'm off until at least noon tomorrow. The ones who live the furthest away will probably have another day off. I'll go in with my 4WD since I only live about 4 miles away.

I put a roast in the oven and figure I'll add potatoes and carrots later for dinner. I guess I have to cook tonight since Trisha, Bryce and Larry are home! Plus, the oven will help to keep the house warm.

Everyone stay warm and safe! Jill, you can have this snow! LOL

Love,
Mars

PS - my new computer will be here soon - scheduled for delivery today. I'll update on another thread when I try it out - laptop with a built-in video cam and Microsoft Vista!

Hi from Florida. I can't believe I am missing winter in Ohio. It's really nice here, as Shirley said, though she is on the Atlantic and I am on the Gulf side. We're visiting some friends. Have had no luck camping in the state parks, they are all reserved and full. No room for the vagabond any more. Haven't read any posts but this one so far. Hope you are all okay.

Jill,

Gonna leave that "funny" just because it fits the board. If anyone has a problem, I will fix it!

Mars

PS: It's 7:01 pm and it is snowing to beat the band. They are saying it could reach blizzard conditions before long. The weather before 6 was just a "tease" according to the local emergency management office.

Yep! Here in Stark County it started snowing early this morning and it hasn't stopped. At present it is blizzard conditions and supposed to continue until tomorrow afternoon.
I got called into work earlier than what I was scheduled to work today!
Had to get goodies made for Valentine's Day..
Left work at 4pm and it was very treacherous and they were on all of the news and radio stations telling people not to go out...
All flights in Akron Canton and Cleveland have been cancelled and of course, all schools are closed.
Will be interesting getting into work tomorrow!!!
Margie, I also heard about no one to report for the 2 & 3rd shits at the factories!!!!! hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Love
