All Plowed Out and at Work

Post by kate_ce1995 »

And Geoff and I are going snow shoeing on Saturday!

Don't know how much we got because the wind drifted a lot of it. I'd guess around the 2 foot mark.

Morning Katy,

We only got around 8" of snow and about 2" of ice on top of it but now back to work too. Snowshoeing sounds like a fun way to spend Saturday.

Love, Maggie

Yay, Katy! You finally got your winter weather! I live just south of Maggie, so whatever weather she is having, you can subtract a few inches for me.

It has been single digits many nights this winter, so I have been leaving food out every night for the animals. I saw the fox last night and he is FAT (which is very unusual for a fox). So now I'm cutting down - putting him on a diet! He loves the bread spread with peanut butter I've been leaving! He is eating all of the food before the raccoons and possums can get to it.

Love,

Polly

Polly,

I had to chuckle that you're putting a wild fox on a diet. LOL. I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've ever heard of something like that. If he can beat the raccoons and possums to your buffet, he's doing pretty doggone good. Around here, that would be a pretty tough project.

I miss the red foxes we used to have around here. They used to be plentiful here in this mostly-open farming country - until the coyotes moved in. It appears that the red fox is now extinct, in this area, or close enough, for all practical purposes. When we were kids, we even had a few as pets. Coyotes suck.

Love,

"Coyotes suck"

I totally agree!! At least the Eastern Coyotes in Pa. do.
