I just relied to a Post and when I submited it , It told me Sorry But you cannot post again so soon after your last post. What is that about. Never saw that before. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
Hi Oma,
That's called "flood control". It's a little feature that I added to the board about a year ago. It keeps anyone from "attacking" this board by flooding the board with posts, and bogging down the server with garbage. This is sometimes done by troublemakers, who use special computer programs to send many thousands of posts, or emails, or whatever, hoping to either bog down a discussion board, or corrupt or damage the server, or slip something past it during the confusion caused by the attack.
That's exactly what happened to the server that operates this board, one day last week. Our board wasn't the target of the attack, but during the attack, someone tricked the server into writing the malicious code into one of our board files, and that caused all the pop-up ads, (until I found and removed the code).
I'm surprised that you triggered it. You must be a pretty fast poster. Normally, humans do not submit a second post fast enough to trigger it. I'll check the settings to make sure that they are still correct.
Love,
Tex
