Eye doctor report........

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the well-wishes. I made an appointment with the eye doc this morning - they got me in first thing! I have a contagious infection in both and am off of work until Wednesday. Antibiotics; a tiny little bottle cost me $30 WITH insurance. I have to put 1 drop in each eye, 4X a week for one week and 1 drop each eye 3X daily for a week. MAN! Oh, and I have to use Lubricant eye drops forever! My eyes tend to be on the dry side with irritates them. I'm falling apart! LOL

Muscle has relaxed and only slightly sore. The D has dissappeared and feeling ok except for the eyes.

Thanks again everyone........

So glad you were able to get in to see him quickly.

Interesting about the dry eyes. I have started using over the counter eye drops because mine seem so dry in the past year. Sometimes it's really bothersome.

Did your eye doc give you prescription drops?

Hope your eyes will soon be feeling normal again.

Mars,

I'm glad you were able to get the treatment started without further ado, and it's good to hear that the other problems are much better, also. Hopefully, by Wednesday, you'll be feeling much better.

Hi Mars

I have to use eye drops for dry eyes as well. (have dry mouth as well) Just had my eyes tested again & the optometrist suggested 'punctal plugs' to stop the tears running away. Thought I would talk to my GP first before I committed myself & she said that I could try it but sometimes it leads to infection. Have not made up my mind about it yet. You can have trial ones put in that disolve after a couple of days. Also have cataracts, as has Robert so we are a good pair. Hope you infection clears up soon.

Love

Mars Bar,

Glad you're on the mend. It seems that dry eyes go along with MC and AI problems. Check out Sjogren's syndrome, in which the body makes antibodies to attack the glands that produce tears as well as saliva. I have a problem with dry eyes too.

Mine are definately worse this time of year as well.

Anyone know if dry eyes make your vision seem blurry? I have a harder time seeing with my left eye this time of year. Now granted I'm quite nearsighted in that one. I only use one at a time anyway, and that one doesn't get as much general use so I think dries out when not being focused for long periods of time. It also gets more computer use.

I've got to get to my eye doctor this spring...need non-photogray lenses for the wedding.
