I have something to say--

Post by barbaranoela »

U know what-----confession time---Iam not a devout prayer---and @ times I get very angry with the GOOD LORD----and my faith is tested over and over---

I wonder WHY sooooooooo many times----I want *answers* and many times there are NO answers-----tis the way of LIFE--

Since going to services, with Carmen and Gene, things have been taking on a different meaning to me----

ALL of U here--are in my PRAYERS--each and every day---weather it be a spoken prayer or just a moment of THINKING of what each and every one goes thru---and saying---*let things get better for all*--including this :earth2:

I think I just got a *PAT* on the head from the BIG MAN UPSTAIRS--

So U all keep me in your good wishes too---I need them--

Barbara,

You said it perfect and wish I could have said it so well. I have pretty odd prayers and they sound just like yours. No "on-the-knees" prayer am I and mine are usually said in my meditation moments.

Hugs and love to you and all here - my 2nd family. Heck - my first family other than Frank and the grandsons.

Love, Maggie

Barbara-

I used to think like that as well - pray for something specific, hoping for a "yes" or "no" the next day...I have learned things are often not that cut and dried. I have learned to be more patient. Sometimes the answer is more subtle, and sometimes I realize I am praying for the wrong thing (too specific). I have also learned to not always pray for what *I* want, but for what would ultimately be best, which can be hard!

It sounds like you have reached a spiritual turning point - I will continue to pray for you as you seek to understand what you are experiencing.

Love,
Mary

Hi Barb!!
You are not the only human whose nature is to question why or want a resolution or an answer when we are faced with a trial. Or get PO'd..
Most of us are like that.
I have found thru the many trials that I have faced, to learn to be quiet and wait. The answer or resolution may come, and it may not.
One BIG thing that I have noticed is that from going thru all of these trials it has made me a much stronger person..
And I have observed that with you too Barb!!!
You are one strong cookie!! And that's why all of us love you so!!!

Love
Dee~~~ :bigbighug:

Barb,

I agree with everyone. They all said it well, that is the way I do it too.

Meditation, thoughts throughout the day, and not praying too hard for one specific thing. I know that things don't always happen the way you especially want them to.

I also have gotten mad at God and been unsure of what praying was all about, when I prayed so hard for my husband to live and he didn't. I was very young (20) and now I have a different way of looking at it.

Jaco, a parrot in Salzburg, could not only speak but seemed to understand grammar. Whenever his person left, Jaco would say "God be with you." But when several people were departing, Jaco would change it to "God be with all of you."
