Here is another UPDATE---DOUG!!!

Post by barbaranoela »

Yes----it is never ending----

As some of U might know----17 years back Doug had some problems--he developed some back pains but ignored the issue until the day came when he could not STAND!!!

So we took him to our GP---in turn---recommended an MRI---which in turn showed herniated discs(neck)---which then sent us to a NEURO--who in turn was recommended to us by our Nurse friend Betty---cus this guy had been in practice for years and this type of surgery was a common---thing to do--

We had did some surveying ---and we had come upon these younger neuros(which should have been our choice) but we went on our friends advice-

Well this %^$&* removed 4 discs from Dougs neck---DID NOT PUT IN A ROD to give him support---thus leading to the point where he had to hold up his head--with his hands---which led to him being unable to work--leading to disability--leading to a young mans life being sucked outta him--

This is how Doug---now 45--has been since age 28??--

APPEARS OUR FAMILY SURELY HAS ROOTEN LUCK GETTING THE RIGHT NEURO

4/5 years back this NEURO--was disbarred from the medical profession for UN-NECESSARY OPs.---crippleing some people/or leave them like Doug-
YUP we got a lawyer but the *time* had lapsed--

And yes----when this first happened we got a lawyer then and this schmuck royally screwed Doug---took this lawyer to find out a simple thing that one would find out first--and cost us megga BUCKS in all the paper work that we had to pay for----
We were soooooooooooo stupid!!!
With the time passing Dougs disc--in the back have compressed(a few removed) and he is like a CAR with NO shock absorbers---

NOW, we have talked Doug into checking newer options and HOORAY--he found a doc here---who read all his reports/looked @ all X-rays/Cats/and MRI--and was like *what*---

He went for a BRAIN MRI--this is how it all starts---and a call back to tell Doug they spotted something in his brain--!!!!
Well it appears to be *blood*---and there for a long time??? Yet nothing to worry about??? BLOOD what?? a clot???? This is very confusing to me-
He has a collor with steel in it/and a plain one

So now ---this new neuro is in charge and perhaps there can be some lessening (sounds like a comparison with Kait ) of pain and other things that can be done for him---

THIS is why we come to AZ---to put a smile on Dougs face---to help him--
Louie goes to all doctors with him---

We are hoping that this doc. can be of help and give Doug some good things to enjoy for the remaining years of his life--

Yes-----many of the times I see Doug---I want to cry----but he is always on the *hey shi* happens and U live with it* tude--that I let the tears fall when we leave him for the day--

So---this has been one hell-of-a life---for sure
I could update U with daughter Deb but U would all think I have lost my marbles----

Take care all----I think of each and everyone---and ya know I stopped asking *why*!!!

sweet dreams--
dont let the bed bugs bite

I swear, Cuz'n, I could go postal on some of the neuros you've had in your (and your family's) lives! We have some pretty strict gun laws up here where I live, got one you could lend me and I'll do another NY trip? I'm a dang good shot, if I do say so myself. Somewhere around the "male parts" perhaps....nothing fatal, of course! We Canucks are way too polite for that!

Breathe, dear lady, breathe. Take one day at a time...it'a all we can do, right?

Big hugs
Cuz'n Pippi

Barbara,

Seems like you family is wearing targets for the neuro profession and I would, like Peg, transfer those targets to the neuros.

I sure hpe this doc can give Doug some help. He is way too young to constantly be in such pain.

Prayers for all of your family - you really need them.

Love, Maggie

Barbara,

I agree with Peg, but sounds like there are too many targets!!!

I hope they can finally help Doug!!! Please keep us posted.

Oh Sis,

This is such good news......about the neuro who may be able to help. I know that this has been your dream for a long time and that you always run into a brick wall. :bricks:

I am keeping everything crossed that Doug will finally have some relief and a better quality of life.

Lots of love,

Polly

Barbara,
"What Polly said" AND "what Peg said" (only us "old southern gals" probably aren't as "polite" as the "younger Canucks".
