Today I get definitive answers...

Post by CAMary »

I started getting worried last night - up until then I've been okay...I get the full pathology report so I know *exactly* what I am facing. I am praying it is exactly what the surgeon has predicted - but only the the pathologist knows for sure! I pray there has been nothing surprising or unexpected found. Last night bad feelings started creeping up on me - like "you've fallen on the unlucky side of the odds thus far, why would today be any different?"

Mike is coming with me to the appointment. He assures me it will be fine, and even if it is a little worse than initially thought - I will still be *fine*! Gosh, I love that man! In the scope of having cancer - if it is stage 1 instead of stage 0 it is still an excellent prognosis.

I did take another valium, at the suggestion of some people on a BC support board I've been hanging around - and I *do* feel better having had a decent nights' sleep! They have assured me this is the *worst* time - and after having all of my data, I will have a sense of control and a plan to move forward...It's nice to commiserate with people who "get it"!

Please keep me in your thoughts and fingers crossed for no unexpected surprises this afternoon.

Thanks for letting me unload here...

Love,

Mary

Good luck Mary.

My mom developed a great philosophy when she got BC...can you change today what you do to change you prognosis? If so, do it, if not, don't worry about it. And secondly, are you going to die tomorrow? Probably not, so don't worry about it.

You are in the worst of time, and it will take some time even after "knowing" what you are dealing with to adjust to the idea (including I'm sure, very careful screening for several years). But with time, the worry and stress become less.

You are so adept at taking charge of your health, that you will be fine regardless of the prognosis.

Thinking about you today, Mary!! Let us know the minute you have access to your computer. You're right, your husband sounds like a great guy--I wish I was there with you today to give you a hug in person. For now, this will have to do:
