Hi Polly - Wedding

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Hi Polly...not even 3 months...closer to 2! June 2 is the date. I took my niece-to-be for her fitting yesterday and while we were there the shop owner called to check on the status of my dress and they said it's in transit, so I will go Monday after work to try it on! I'm very excited about that. Will try to figure out what to do for a headpiece at that time.

I still have some planning to do. And a few things to nail down. But I'm getting there. I will be glad when it's over though. I want a nice wedding, but it sure takes up a lot of free time and energy.

Hi Katy,

It DOES take a lot of time and energy! Can't believe it's almost here! How about a description of your gown?

Love,

Polly

The gown is georgeous if I do say so myself. It is a light ivory (white unless next to a "white" gown) with cranberry embroidery and beading in a floral pattern. The embroidery is thicker around the chest, then tapers to occasional flowers through the waist and skirt then densens up (not quite the right word) toward the bottom of the skirt and trims the bottom of the skirt and the train. It's not a long train..couple of feet at most. It's strapless, or has beaded spaghetti straps as an option.

The MOH and bridesmaid are wearing dresses that are cranberry with a wedge of ivory over one leg tapering at the waist to be all cranberry, then widening again at the top. There is a floral beading pattern where the cranberry comes together on the bodice. Also floor length.

Erin (flower girl) is wearing a cranbery dress with an ivory sash, and Kayla (ring bearer) is wearing a cranberry dress with a row of ivory embroidery near the bottom of the skirt.

Well, the PJs haven't come up. He wants either shorts and a tie-dyed t-shirt, a kilt, I forget whatelse. We just bought him PJ pants with the Boston Red Sox logo on them and I he asked him mom to make a ring-bearer pillow with the boston B on it. She has agreed to make the pillow, but I'm to pick the fabric and then she won't tell us what pattern she will cross stich on it.
