Doctor visit today.............

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone,

I finally made an appointment today with my family doctor for various reasons: fatigue, excessive sleeping, stomach spasms (suprise!), etc. By the time I left, I was scheduled for a complete set of blood work including a complete metobolic, thyroid, CBC, TSH, Vit B-12, Ferritin and have been referred back to my "gut" doc for a colonoscopy, EGD w/biopsy and a celiac biopsy. WHEW! My doc appointment is on April 16th and he will schedule from there.

While at the doctor, we found my BP is elevated and I'm running a low grade fever. Have been for a few days. ??????? Don't know what is going on but something is.

I'm way behind in my testing - I was supossed to have a follow-up EGD in 2002 or 3 and didn't and my colonoscopy was in 2003 or 4 and doc wants to see if there are any changes.

Well, that's that - guess I'll get the tests and go from there.

Love,
Mars

Wow! You're pretty much scheduled for a full exam, with all the trimmings.

I hope the tests provide the information you and your doc need to pinpoint the problem.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Good grief, you're a mess, Margie! It's about time you are getting checked out. In the meantime--it's the weekend! Take a nap with a clear conscience. :cat2:

You sound like me! I have been such a mess the past few months that we reached our catastrohpic cap for our insurance 3 months after the start of the new policy year!

Let's hope they get to the bottom of it all and that you can get back to feeling better ASAP.

I think I go to my new GI on the 16th as well--we can compare notes when we're done!

Hang in there, Mars!
