Tessa, how about an update?
Hi Tessa!
I am wondering if you have finally pooped out all of that barium so that you can send off your stool specimen to Dr. Fine. (I know you received your kit).
You will probably hold the world's record for mailing poop farther than anyone else in the world (all the way from Spain). What a distinction, huh? LOL!
And how are you feeling???
Love,
Polly

Hi Tessa,
It's so nice to see a post from you I always enjoy reading your posts since you are so NICE to everyone. Thank you
Wow, I didn't realize you had decided to do a gluten sensitivity test - I applaud your decision. There is nothing better than knowing. I have done most of the tests that are available from Enterolab and they have all been valuable tools in my process of becoming symptom free. I had uncontrollable diarrhea for 5 or 6 months while I tried to figure out all my food intolerances. After that - it has been smooth sailing. I have solid poops every day and no gut trouble or discomfort. I feel extremely healthy and sometimes have to remind myself of the fact that I am still "sick" - so I better stay away from trouble foods.
Why have you not started the GF diet yet? Are you not sure how to do it? You know we will be happy to help you when you are ready - you can ask any question and we will be delighted to try to answer them. Collectively we have a very large reservoir of knowledge - don't be shy to take advantage of it. We LOVE to share what we have learned.
Love,
Karen

(You know, something new, difficult, unknown.... ) On Monday I will collect the swab specimen and then send it all to Enterolab... I promise to start the GF diet on Tuesday, the 28th ( WoW, I have written the words... I made a decission! OLÉ )... Thank you again for your help... I bet I will really need your help...

Yes, I am. I tried a few weeks ago and decided that I would prove to myself that I really didn't need to be on a GF diet - can anyone say DENIAL? LOL
I found that all of my symptoms came back and hit me hard! I was beginning to feel better in just a few weeks of dieting and then decided that I would eat tons and tons of gluten and prove to myself that I could!
Guess what? I NEED to eat right! I am excited about being in charge of my own health! You?

Well A few weeks ago I was feeling bad... All the symptoms visiting me again... So painful and discomfortable
Then I decided to try... I ate bread and biscuits without gluten... All the symptoms were gone. I felt better... But, as I was going to start the tests... I went on eating bread and biscuits with gluten...
I know it is not going to be easy, as I am used to eating all kind of food with gluten and GF products have a different taste... But I will try to do my best... I have lost too much weigth and appetite... I really need to do something or I will have to buy all kind of clothes again...
Love,
Tessa.

Hi Tessa,
Sounds like you've made a dicision, OLA!!! Congratulations
I know it will be difficult in the beginning and yes, GF products taste different; some are good and some are not so good; but at least you have many choices so you should be able to find some foods you like. Do you have a good health food store in your neighborhood? They often carry many GF products. Sometimes they will order products for you if they don't have them already.
You actually don't have to be eating gluten while taking the stool sample for testing at Enterolab.
Have you started shopping for GF products already so you have something planned for the 28th? It is a good idea to plan a menu for a week so you know what you are going to do in the beginning - after a short while you get used to it and you know what you like and how to prepare it.
Let us know how we can help you, OK!?
Love,
Karen
