This isn't Mike - but let me jump in...

Was this a 4x a day Saliva test? Do you have a copy of it? Can you post it with Tex's awesome "add image to post" thing?

they may have gotten your lab's mixed up with Reggies...

When they did your ACTH stim test, did they take a blood draw, then shoot you up with something, then come back later and get another reading? Depending on what they shot you with, they could be seing if your adrenals responded, or if your pituitary responded. Try to get the exact name of the test, and if possible what they shot you up with.

The treatment is the same. Most people on the Adrenal-Thyroid board don't care which it is. the only time you care is if you suspect EVERYTHING is shut down because of pituitary. Like a broad brush, more than just adrenal - thyroid. but even then, you don't' "fix" a pituitary, you just take more pills for the stuff you don't' have or aren't making.

FWIW, my saliva test for DHEA (which I assume was only DHEA and not DHEAS) and said it was high. Got my DHEAS levels back yesterday and it said that they were low. Not sure which you got tested Cristi, but DHEA levels don't tell you as much as DHEAS. Got cortisol tested as well (morning) and it came back well within range, the estrodiol (sp) was kindof high for a male though. That and my sodium levels are low than my Dr liked to see. I'll add more details later.

Hi Bob and Mike,

I will go look for my tests. I know for the ACTH stimulation, I did a 24 hour urine collection, went in and had two shots of something and did an immediate 24 hour collection of urine. I am not very organized but all tests are in the same place so I will be able to find them and give you more specifics.

Love,
Cristi

Can you guys let me know how it goes there? I might just have to bite the bullet and go there if the DHEA and antioxidents don't help me out.

Hey, this is supposed to be the thread where you talk about how "cool Bob is". C'mon guys, get it together!

If you want to talk about this darn adrenal - thyroid mumbo-jumbo, go over here http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... 6736#36736 and let's have some fun with Beth's Cortisol lab results.

Seriously, you can come over to my house here and schedule your Dr visits and compare notes, it's OK...

Hi Everyone,

Reggie....Yep...my appointment is for April 12 with Dr. Marti. I went with her because she is supposed to like bio-identical female hormone replacement therapy. I did a lot of research awhile ago and that is what I feel comfortable using. I'd love to compare notes after our appointments.

Mike..of course we'll let you know how it goes...that's what we do here. I got the paper work in the mail and there is info on their fees and a payment schedule. it's not cheap but not crazy either. There is also a small write up about their clinic....Says they first address pain and sleep issues and then move from treating symptoms to finding the problems. They talk about mitochondria, hormonal deficiency, toxins, and infections. They can also give IV therapy there. Sounds decent to me...we'll see if it's as good as it sounds.

Hey cool Bob...I am still digging for my lab results. Always appreciate your help through this confusing stuff.

Love,
Cristi

Hey there, Bob,

You rock.

Love, Marsha

P.S. I just got my second B12 shot today, boy does it make me feel better. I wish I could afford to do the adrenal testing now (without insurance) but I have to wait until I get to WA this summer for the good naturopathic MD. I'm copying all the posts for reference . . .

Nice! It can take a week to have the adrenal kit mailed to you, and another 10 to 14 days to get the result, so you may want to plan on doing the adrenal test in advance of meeting with your Dr.

I know what it's like to not affort the tests - I racked up my credit to get to the bottom of it.
