My daughter is in the hospital!

Post by Umber »

My daughter Ashlee was at work last night, turned white as a sheet and passed out. They called the ambulance and took her to the ER. She is severly anemic and was in the process of getting set up with a GI for an endoscope. Her doc said she has internal bleeding, ulcer??

They are going to remove her gall bladder. They will remove the stone today with a scope and then surgery tomorrow for the gall bladder. I don't understand that, why not just remove the whole thing one time, stone and all. Anyway, she will be out of the hospital on Friday.

What a scare! I have Kylee at home with me. She must sense that I am upset. She is sure being a stinker! Trying to poke her finger in Lexie's nose, touching all the buttons on the TV, laying on the couch kicking her Auntie Morgan.

Goodness, when things happen with your kids it is sure tramatic!

Hugs,

Lori

Awww Lori,
Sorry to read about your daughter, yes your right when it your kids there is nothing worse, but try not to worry, it does seem silly them not removing the gall bladder all at once, but perhaps the stone is big and they are going to do micro sugery, so they need to lazer the stone first and get it out, that is how my sister inlaw had hers removed, which was much better because she was'nt cut opean. Try not to worry too much because you will only make yourself ill.

By for now be strong.

Oh Lori! I'm so sorry to hear this. Will this delay the move? Or is that much further down the road?

Please keep us updated as to how Ashlee is doing and send her my love.

Yes, Lori, when things are "wrong" for our children they are "wrong" for us also. I'd much rather have things happen to me rather than them but, of course, that can't be done and I'm sure it's a good thing or our kids would never suffer adversity which can be good for us at times. Makes us stronger (hopefully).

Hang in there. It will get better, I'm sure.

I'm so sorry Lori :(

It's so difficult in times like these, but at least they know what's ailing her already and can get right on it instead of still trying to figure it out..

Kids can always sense when we're upset and it just makes their attitude or behavior worse, which in turn makes ours worse.. I dunno how old she is, but it might help to explain that you're a little scared because your daughter's sick. She'd understand that much, and then she wouldn't feel like it might be something she has done.. and might be easier on you..

Good luck, and keep us posted on your daughter!!!

Oh, goodness Lori, how terrifying. Give Ashlee my love and hugs. And Kylee, of course.

I would understand completely if you need to cancel lunch on Friday. Although, you might need somebody to vent with. Let me know, dear.

I hope all goes well for a while.

Lots and lots of love,

Sally

Oh Lori,

This is awful. Please give Ashlee a hug from me and tell her to get well ASAP. I'd like to send her a card - would you PM me her address? Or should I send it in care of you?

Hang in there.

Lots of love,

Polly

Lori-

What a scare - I remember when my dad was hospitalized for a bleeding ulcer - it took a while to diagnose and we were all on pins and needles!! It sounds like they are on top of things and she should be on the mend soon....

When is she supposed to move to Hawaii? Will this change their plans?

Love,

Mary

PS I've been meaning to tell you how much I loved your artistic trading card - very creative

Dear Lori

Sorry to hear about Ashley, I hope she pulls through okay. I am a basket case with my kids when something goes wrong too. Having a baby to chase around the house is going to keep you pretty busy. U have heard the news of course that I am going to be a gramma soon too! So I will have a little one to chase around soon enough too. Give Ashley a hug from me and a kiss for Klyee.

Hugs

Lori,

I am so sorry to here about your daughter!! Why are they taking out her gallbladder, if thay can get rid of the stone? Do they think the anemia is connected? Or are these two separate issues?
