Saw the Ortho Doctor today

Post by Carol Arnett »

Hi everyone,

I went back for my 2 week check-up after having my cast removed. He had planned for me to go back to work tomorrow but when he saw how much pain there was and how little range of motion I had, he decided to keep me off work another month. I have been off on unpaid disability since Jan 13. I keep this up and I won`t get in a quarter of the year. At least while I am on disability my job AND my insurance are protected.

Harry is doing a little better each day. I think he still thinks he should be able to run a marathon but the doctor thinks it will probably be 6 months before he felt like he did pre-op. Got a statement today from the Clinic for $158,000 and I am sure there will be more to come. I knew it would be a lot.

Everyone take care and have a good night or day tomorrow. Love, Carol

Morning Carol,

If you were planning to go back to work, I am sorry it is delayed a month but you have to do what will make you better. Also glad to hear Harry is getting a little better each day. Also sorry it is unpaid disability - Ouch that really hurts the income and the Clinic bill is a whopper and I too am sure there are more to come.

Take it easy and both of you rest.

Love, Maggie

Hi Carol,

I'm glad you will have another month to heal. It did not sound to me like to were ready to go back to work. It is a shame that you are on unpaid disability, but having your insurance protected is a biggie! And I'm sure Harry is happy that you will be there with him for the next month. Best wishes to both of you. The worst is over.....YAY! :rainbow:

Love,

Polly

Thank goodness your insurance is protected!! That REALLY counts these days.

I sure hope your wrist will soon be feeling a lot better. Perhaps the slow healing is due to the stress you have been under. Hopefully that will be decreasing.

Harry sounds like my Bill......Thinks he should be good as new within a week or so......................

Tell him that Bill has a surgical hernia probably caused by pushing it too fast (according to everyone but him).

Hi Carol.

Glad that Harry is feeling much better. It will take him a while to really get over what he has been through. You both just need to concentrate on healing. Do you wear a support? That may help to relieve your pain a little. I even use mine when the arthritis is acting up a bit & it does help a bit. Stops you from overusing it & allows it to rest.

That clinic account is sure a big amount to have to pay. Does your insurance cover much of it?

Hope you both keep on improving.

Love

Liz

Carol---me too--- happy that Harry is feeling better and better---but am not happy about the unpaid disability---

Give your wrist the time it needs to heal----and one of those wrists supports should be of some help~~~

Is Harry luvin his recliner??

Yup---I think there are times when we wish we felt better way before the time allows----
I know I do---- ---

Keep that  and best wishes to Harry too
