Gallbladder Flutter

Ok I just experience the weirdest thing today. I felt what felt like my gallbladder was fluttering or twitching. It wasn't painfull, just kept moving rappidly, felt like what it might feel like if your heart was going fast only on the other side. I felt my pulse and my pulse was moving at a different frequency so it wasn't my heart rate. It was the strangest thing and I'm wondering what that was. Any ideas?

Mike,

What has your diet been like recently, fatty foods? What did you eat just prior to this?

I've noticed some "breast activity" the last few weeks and I'm in what I would call my first flare in almost 2 years- I suspect what may have brought it on but we know there is a seasonal onset of MC so it is also likely that flaring will happen about this time of year for many of us.

Gluten sensitivity is crazy, all over the board....I hope your problem is short lived. Maybe a good idea to have it checked out.

Yeah, I had just eaten a fatty meal, though not any more fatty than other meals. The big difference was that it was sesame oil in it. This seemed to be the biggest difference. I have to say this is the first time I ever really noticed this. I've felt a little ache in that area, but nothing like this. It's the same feeling you get when your leg or eyelid starts to twitch.

I'm going to bring it up to the GI dr I'm seeing next week. I'm seeing someone different in a different clinic. I also have new information since I've last talked to a GI Dr, information more based on lab tests that they can sink their teeth into. I keep wondering why I have such low B Vitamin levels, and the biggest thing coming to me is stomach acid. So I think I'm going to get the heidelberg capsule test next week, costs $150 but I think it'd be good to know once and for all. Along with the low B Vitamins and if it turns out to be low acid I think the next step would be to check my amino acid levels.

Just curious - what makes you think that it was your gallbladder, "twitching"? I'm not saying that it couldn't have been your gallbladder, (though I'm having trouble visualizing how or why a gallbladder could do that). Could it have been something like a muscle twitch in your diaphragm, for example?

Could very well be some other muscle, but it's rather interesting that it's exactly where my gallbladder is and highly localized there. I would think if it were my diaphram though that it would not be as localized and that I would notice it in my breath.

As far as it twitching well, I imagine if it can spasm that it could twitch. I think it's made of muscle or muscle like material otherwise how would it be able to hold and eject the bile. I suppose if it were in a sphincter. I guess I gotta look at the anatomy again to make sure.

I do have more of the food I ate last night, and I'll eat it right now and see what happens. :)

Could you have a hernia ? I know sometimes just before I get a nast painful attack of my hernia, It will feel as if something in there twitches and then The oain hits. Just a thought. Love Oma

No pain what so ever, and it hasn't happened again since that night. Very strange.
