Apples

Post by Carol Arnett »

I was wondering if anyone else had trouble with apples. For me, they have always been constipating but after reading a post not long ago about apples and which ones people liked, it made me hungry for them. I have been eating one Golden Delicious per day for about a month with no C so what do I get? D ! I had it for about 4 days last week then started again tonight. I didn`t even eat one last night.....chose a pear instead. The only other thing I have ever been sensitive to are NSAIDS and I haven`t had any of them since 2001.

Harry is doing a little better each day and I got a really good Therapist for my wrist.

Have a good weekend. Love, Carol

Very strange Carol, but then again...what about this disease isn't? Apples are actually supposed to be a cure for diarrhea, thus the BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, and tea) diet we reccommend.

I'll be curoius to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar with apples.

Glad to hear Harry is doing better.

Hugs to you both.

Love
Peg

I'm actually about to try apples again to see how I do, but they were a no no for me in the past due to their high fructose content. Among the highest and they were the worst fruit for me, honey was also problematic with it's high fructose content.

I can eat an apple once a week with no problems, and if I bake them it seems to be better. When I first was diagnosed I couyld drink apple juice all day long and it would only slow the *D* but not stop it. I know apple juice will constipate babies if given too early in life, But I had a friend that had a baby girl that at 8 months had problems with the bowels, babies mom had IBS. Glad you got a good therapist for your wrist and that harry is doing better. Love Oma :bigbighug:
