My grandaughter Kristyn has made the NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY--
She got 3 high rated recommendations from where she works---from her church cus she donates her time fund raising for the needy and from the Epilepsey Camp where she has become *counseller*----She also had joined KIDS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVERS but only went to 2 meetings and for this THE SOCIETY TURNED her down---can U believe this--
They asked for an Xplanation of *why* and she wrote the most awesome letter in reference to her being needy @ home due to Kait's illness and she put her priorities in place and that be HER SISTER and her MOM;s Needs---
Well they called her up and apologized--and she made it----and average high 90's!!!!!
Comes graduation---these honor students--wear a special sash--and they all sit in the first row!!! And receive their diplomas first--
Something to be bring happy Xcitement into our .lives---
I have to say---and being honest--Kristyn is a whizz----
Wednesday night, Minnisink High, is having a todo for the seniors who made this HONOR SOCIETY!!!!!

Wonderful news, Barbara! It gives anyone a warm feeling being reccgnized for their efforts an good work. Once in the workplace it is almost more important than the money.
It is no wonder you are so so proud of your girls. Both Kait an Kris seem to be well grounded when it comes to education and excelling. Must come from the genes, and a warm hearted Gram and Gramps doesn`t hurt either. Tell Kristyn I said CONGRATULATIONS! Love, Carol

The National Honor Society coordinator at my school didn't invite me either, but I managed to get my hands on an application and was accepted. Good job Kris for sticking up for her priorities too. She has also had a rough high school career with her sis being so sick, but has obviously acceled. You have two remarkable granddaughters there, Barb.
