Spit results anyone?

Post by Pat »

Mine sunk, a little floated. My husbands mostly floated, a little sunk. He thinks I'm crazy. Anyway, I ordered the VSL#3 and stopped the steroids per my doc's recommendations. I'm not eating grains. From other posts
(Matthew) it looks like this might take some time. I just seem to be having a hard time getting enough calories. I don't need to lose weight. I need to gain. Any suggestions?

Well, Pat...mine got stringy and then sunk. Hubby's sunk and actually looked a whole lot nastier than mine! I'm going to the doc tomorrow--we'll see what he has to say about it! It does seem like it takes some time to heal from this one. Where do you get the VSL#3?

Wendy,
I ordered it from the internet. Go to www.vsl3.com It isn't cheap. $45.00 for 60 pills. It also comes in powder form. If you order multiple bottles it is cheaper, but I wanted to try it first before I ordered more.

I'm a day later than you two but I did it this AM.

Mine grew "legs" and then would break off and sink. Most of it ended up at the bottom of the glass with very little stil suspended in the water and hardly any floating.

I was looking at the supplements that site offered. They sure are pricey.

Has anybody else tried the spit test or taken the other test. The other test told me I was in the severe catagory although I don't feel the symptoms I checked yes to are very bad.

I just don't feel I can justify about 200 a month or more at this point.

I certainly don't intend to buy the supplements. Just thought the "test" was kinda funny. LOL. I do have all the symptoms and I have taken a million antibiotics throughout my life. Acne as a teenager and sinus infections as an adult. Also bladder infections. Too many. I've had a lot of vagingal yeast infections also. Gonna try the VSL#3. My doc said he would call back yesterday and he didn't - yet.

Pat,
Don't be suprised if you end up having to call his office to remind them.
Unfortunately, that seems to be the norm anymore.

I have some probiotics on the way. Maybe they will help.

Good luck to you................

Well, he called back today and said that he wants all the lab results from my previous GI doc that retired. He said that I should have responded to either the Neomycin or Prednisone. He said something else is going on. I would imagine I'll be having some more lab work done.

Also the VSL#3 arrived today in pretty impressive packaging. It was wrapped in 2 cold packs and packed in styrofoam in a cardboard box. The doc said this won't make the D go away but that I should take it.

Oh, Wow!! I'm impressed by that packaging too!! Wish I had ordered that kind.

So glad the Dr. called you back. I hope he can find out what is going on.
