The good news is my mammogram results came back and are normal! The first one I had (and the only other one so far) was a real scare for me. They found cysts and I had to get one drained. This time the news was great!
The bad news is I've been forced on to a picket line and am honouring a strike that another union is having with the company I work for. Right now we're locked out. $200 a week in strike pay is hardly the salary I'm used to! I'm trying to keep good spirits and just get through this, but it's very (if you'll pardon the pun) un-settling.
More good news is that my colitis isn't reacting at all to this (yet). I'm down to one Asacol per day, and that's all I'm taking.
I've been so busy with union e-mail I haven't kept up on the board, my apologies to all!

It's always nice to see some good news about any medical exam.
I hope the strike doesn't last very long.
And last, but certainly not least, I hope you aren't planning to cut down your dosage rate on the Asacol, at any point in the foreseeable future. I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but for the benefit of newbies, or anyone else, who might be contemplating terminating their Asacol treatment altogether, if my memory is correct, it has taken you almost two years to get back to this point, after stopping your Asacol treatment. That's a long, long time, and I'm certainly glad to see that you're having such good results now.

The medical/health issues sounds like good news. I agree with Tex about not going completely off the Asacol. It's been quite a struggle to regain the ground you lost.

Yikes, Peggy! Thank goodness the mammo was clean and you don't have to worry about that on top of the strike. I'm so sorry you have to go through that. Any thoughts on how long it will take for the strike to settle? Sometimes you can't predict, but sometimes you can forsee that it's not going to be a long one. I'm hoping the latter in your case!
Also glad to hear the colitis isn't acting up right now. Follow Tex and Shirley's advice and stay on that Asacol. No need for any problems to arise now!

Thanks for the replies. In answer to your questions...
I will not be dropping the one Asacol a day. It did take a very long time for me to get back on track with the medication after I dropped it completely. It (at the time) didn't seem necessary to take as I was doing so well. I now know that I need to maintain.
I have no clue how long the strike will go on. Each side seems to be at loggerheads. I only have to walk the picket line a few hours a week starting as of this week. That's a good thing because walking in the cold and wet on concrete is very hard on my neck. Taking the bus doesn't help either, but there's no parking to be had since we're locked right out of the building (which includes underground parking). Last week was very hard on me.
Not to worry Polly, I won't let this affect my holiday time one iota! In fact, this November Carole and David (from New York) have invited me to spend a little time with them when they vacation to Palm Springs. Gaea may even join us for a bit. I already have my plane ticket thanks to Carole's overabundance of airmiles! I'll just pay the taxes on it.
