Mine was in the lower 1/4 of normal range, and I could fix a lot of the symptoms by adding lot of sea salt (see post above). I am off the salt for 2 weeks to get re-tested for aldosterone and just feel "wiped out". that is how you feel when your electrolyte balance is off, and if you have those symptoms (with the frequent urination, muscle twitches, etc.) you may want to ask for some Florinef along with the Cortef - I just filled a script today after seeing my Dr.
