Katy-Florida Keys

Post by harvest_table »

I read a post awhile ago you asking me about the Keys, sorry I didn't respond sooner. Are you still planning on going there after your wedding?

Not sure what kind of planner you are or what your itinerary is but my brother is a park ranger for Bahia Honda State Park and actually lives in the park. He and his wife would be happy to have you and Geoff as guests at their home with full access to the park.

It's so beautiful....I have spent lot's of lazy time there just enjoying the beach and ocean but there are also many other things to do.

I'd like to connect you, if it works with your plans.

Love,
Joanna

Joanna,

Wow! You guys sure flung yourselves far and wide from your mid-western home! Got the country covered.

Geoff and I are going to the Keys on our honeymoon but opted to stay in Key West and we aren't renting a car (although I may one day because I'd love to drive to that really long bridge being a Civil Engineer and all) so we probably won't get up your brother's way. What a tough place to work though! I'm jealous. You know those "career choice" tests they used to have you take in highschool? I always came up as a park ranger. Perhaps a missed opportunity. Ah well. Despite the stress, I like what I do.

I'm really looking forward to our trip.

Katy,

So, you must be flying into Key West..you will have such a wonderful time. I ADORE the Keys because it's given us a wonderful break from Alaskan winters every spring for many years but more important time with my family who I see to seldom. That will change now, since we are moving to MN.

The bridge you mentioned is the 7 mile bridge. It's amazing and I ran/walked it twice early mornings with my sister and her husband on our last visit there. Very inspiring.

My brother has a great job, he enjoys it for sure. Years ago the highlights of his day was having to tell women on the beach to put their tops on but since he has been a law enforcement officer he has a few more challenges.

I bet you are looking forward to the trip. What are the dates you are in Key West?

Love,
Joanna
