Had the chance again to check out the emergency dept of our local hospital on Wednesday. Had a coniption - or something - early on Wednesday morning. Still not sure just what happened but after not feeling up to par all day Tuesday & spending a fair amount of time in the you know where then & through the night I was sitting enthroned (again) whe I got a cramp in my left thigh. I started to stand up & all of a sudden a sort of foggy blind descended & I finished up on the floor with my legs tucked under me, still cramping. It was absolute agony & I remember screaming out for Robert to come. Fortunately he heard me & he was trying to lift me up when I went whoozy again & we both finished up on the floor, with him on top of me. After he managed to get me to the bed he called the ambulance. Spent most of the day in the emergency ward being checked out. The paramedic in the back of the ambulance with me thought that it could be something to do with the carotid artery blockage but it is not really clear just what caused it. They were very through at the hospital & gave me a pretty good going over. I was on a saline drip because they said the blood tests showed I was low in salt & there was also red blood cells in my urine again which has to be checked out. Both feet & ankles & my left leg were injured because of the way they were caught under me. Have had ultrasound to check for dvt's & left foot & ankle Xrays. No broken bone but my doc says I really made a job of it & could not walk for several days. had to use my desk chair & then borrowed a wheelchair for a few days. That was really hard to manoeuvre around the house but can get around with the aid of a stick now.
Still in a fair bit of pain & discomfort. Have to see my GP on Tuesday to see where we go from here.
Usually Robert has his head phones on watching the news on TV & because he is so deaf, would not have heard me yelling out. My Doc say that we should get an alarm of some kind, even a doobell setup or a uniden walkie talkie set so that we can keep in touch.

Hi Liz,
Wow! You did have quite a time of it. I hope they can figure out the problem, and resolve it - you certainly don't need to go through that again.
Yes, it was lucky that Robert heard you. I agree with your doctor that you definitely need to be prepared with a way to contact Robert, (or someone), in case it should happen again. It does sound as though it might be connected with carotid artery blockage, so I trust they will be considering all the options, there.
I hope you don't have any more problems like that, before your doctors can correct whatever caused it.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Wow Liz! I hope you feel better today!
Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
