Hi All,
USDA has proposed 38 changes which were originally suggested by the National Organic Standards Board, and these proposed changes to the regulations have been published in the Federal Register, with only a 7-day comment period allowed, for public input. IOW, if you want to respond, you must do so by May 22, 2007.
If you read these proposed changes, notice how more and more non-organically produced components are being allowed for the processing of organic foods. The distinction between organic and non-organic food is slowly but surely being blurred, and the primary driving force behind that movement seems to be a mandate to facilitate mass production. <sigh> IOW, as organic is becoming more mainstream, big business is molding it to fit their own purposes.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
