Really frustrated!

Post by JJ »

Thanks for letting me come here and vent. I know if I hold all this in, my CC will get worse and I will have to go back on 3 Entocort/day. I am so frustrated that I still don't have work for next year. My head hunter is baffled too and thought for sure that I would have more calls. It is bizarre! I applied for a job in Seattle and found out today that I am not a finalist....sigh. There is another opening at a school in Bellevue..(outside Seattle) but that is for a part time elementary job. I worked with elementary kids for many years, but I think they see that I have been teaching High School and don't give me a chance...or else I have been teaching too long and no one wants to pay me. Sigh

I have made up my mind to contact an employment agency....they work with people who are transitioning to other careers...An HR friend recommended them ...the school will pay for it so I better give it a try....thanks for letting me vent...some one has to want me! TTFN...JJ

Hi JJ,
After teaching HS, I switched to doing elementary library, and it was a blast. Now I'm working in a bead store and love it. You may find jobs related to art that you like as well or more. For instance, I was approached by the psychologist at the elementary school to apply as secretary for his office at a new school opening up nearby. At the time, I the hours didn't work for me, so I turned it down - but I think that might have been a really interesting job, good pay and benefits, (surprizingly close to full time teaching), and no take home grading, parent-teacher conferences, etc.
I'm thinking about you . .
Love, Marsha

JJ,
Having just gone through what you are going through now, I can totally relate. It took about 5 months before I got offered something. I rode that same emotional rollercoaster and thought it would never end. Now that I have a job, of course another one has come along. And I'm in the running for a third one! I've just quit my job of one month and accepted the 2nd job which is more in my field. Hang in there. Things WILL turn around.
