Hi Oma,

So far all the serious stuff is west of I35. I live about 4 or 5 miles east of I35, and we can see the lightening and hear the thunder, and it's getting dark way too early today, but so far all we've had is a few scattered raindrops. The wind is almost still.

We could use a good rain - the corn is pollinating.

Love,
Tex

Update:

It's been raining now for about four hours, and this cloud is not moving. I just got back from a board meeting, and someone called during the meeting to report that it had already rained 10 to 12 inches, just a few miles south of us. I'm back home now, and we haven't had anywhere near that amount here, but the rain continues to fall, and the forecasts show that the heaviest rains should occur about Sunday. We weren't supposed to have more than a half an inch of rain today. <sigh>

The good news is that there's no violent weather associated with this - just a cold, steady rain.

Love,
Tex

Our luck is still holding. We've been very lucky to have received some good soaking rains, here in the central part of the state, but the floods keep occurring in the same spots, roughly 20 to 30 miles NW of us. Looks like we'll get a break today, since most of the rain is east of us, and moving away, after raining here for most of the night. Rain chances go up again tomorrow, though, so I hope we don't get any more heavy stuff, now that the ground is pretty well saturated, everywhere around here.
