customer service (Umber's experience)

Post by hazel »

Hi all,
It is good to see you all again. We have been on vacation and off the computer. I was reading Umber's visit to Penny's thread and I just wanted to say that I so appreciate when I get cheerful, helpful service. Last night I was shopping at Publix in Atlanta and the service was noticibly pleasant. The workers seemed actually happy to help me find what I needed and did not act like I was interrupting them. The only other place I have had service that stood out for it's helpfulness was at Nordstorm's. I have only shopped there twice, as we don't have a Nordstrom's (nor a Publix) at home.

Hey, Kathy,

I just wanted to comment on Publix.. their groc stores are famous for good service, well-stocked shelves and a CLEAN environment. Reason being the employees own the company. The company gives out stock to employees who've been there a certain amount of time, so it's an employee-owned business. I find that businesses like this tend to be more family oriented (like they act like a family), and very customer friendly..

Just wanted to add that..

Believe it or not, my contractor and I got excellent service from two men in the plumbing department yesterday at HOME DEPOT!! I made a point of telling these two gentlemen that I appreciated their help and that it was a pleasure to do business with them.

I think we should all take a pledge to comment on good service wherever we find it. Maybe it will catch on. Hope, hope, hope.

Love,

Sally

That's a good idea, Sally. I will go further than just saying thank you in the future!

I ALWAYS reward good customer service. I used to carry business type cards that I made on my computer. I would leave them say at a restaurant if we had a good waiter/waitress, thanking them for their excellent service.

I LOVE Nordstrom's too! In fact after Penny's I went to get my shoe's at Nordy's. The same woman (Nina) always helps me. She remembers my size in euro, heck I can't even remember without looking. She is awesome.

 I totally agree. Good service should be commented on and rewarded, if possible, whenever possible. There are so many "shoddy service" people out there that anyone who does their job reasonably well seems to stand out.

Good Customer service is rare these days and should be rewarded. I get good service at a little mall town grocery store here. The manager will go out of his way and so will most of his employees. Love Oma :rose:

I have been known to ask to speak to the manager of a store when one of the employees has been particularly helpful and I tell him/her in front of the person how much I appreciate their help. It makes everybody happy. Managers usually only hear the complaints. I think there is such a thing as being a good customer, too. I know some customers can behave like monsters.
