I'm Home

Post by kate_ce1995 »

Well, married, vacationed, and very very tired!

Thank you all for the good wishes. We had a wonderful (but hot) wedding day. The rain held off until we arrived at the VFW for the reception. Everyone complemented us on the service (which of course was mostly the JP's doing....but he does do a nice one). I'm very happy with how things went. I don't have any photos from the actual wedding yet, but will post some as soon as I can.

As for the honeymoon..we had a good time. And Geoff took married life very well...first thing I did was throw up on him on the plane! I got the stomach bug he had, and felt icky the first half of the week, but we still trooped on and had a good time. We went to Hemingway's house, Truman's little white house, a shipwreck museum, Dry Tortugas National Park (very cool...70 miles west of Key West with an old Union fort (Fort Jefferson) and was where Dr. Mudd was imprisioned before his presidential pardon for tending to Booth after he assasinated Abe Lincoln). We went snorkling at Dry Tortugas for a couple hours which was lots of fun.

We were supposed to come home on Friday, but thunderstorms in Atlanta delayed the first leg of our flight enough that we weren't going to make our connection, so Delta put us up and we flew home yesterday. Today we had to get up early to go to church for children's day, then the family came over this afternoon so we could open our wedding gifts.

All in all a good time. I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.

Welcome Home Mrs. Kate!

Glad things went so well (for the most part, anyway...think of it this way, you just christened Geoff :puke:).

Nice to have you back.

Hi Katy and welcome back!

Can't wait to see some photos (hint, hint). Glad you were able to make the most of the honeymoon even with being sick. I guess it was better to be sick AFTER your wedding day. Imagine trying to walk down the aisle and get thru a reception with nausea and vomiting. Or even worse, with the big D. Horrors! I'm sure it has happened, but I'm glad it didn't happen to you.

Welcome to married life! :valentine:

Love,

Polly

P.S. Peg, you get I gold star for using the emoticon so appropriately!! Tee Hee. :star:

I'm so happy for you. Too bad about the flu bug, but I'm glad it didn't put a damper on your plans. Guess Geoff is learning early "for better or worse", but I bet he was very understanding.

I'll also be looking forward to seeing photos.

Love,

Momster
