What do you use for a sore bottom?

Post by Poopsie »

You may have covered this one before, so apologies upfront!
Have you found anything to relieve the terrible acid burn you get on your bottom from too much diarrhea? Looking for relief like when you have to go over and over again...doesn't happen that often but when it does, boy do I wish I knew the cure. Any and all ideas are welcome, especially natural ones!

HI Poopsie and welcome to our on-line family!!!

In answer to your question: Hydrocortisone ointment is the most WONDERFUL!!!! I have suffered from hemmies forever and this works like nothing else. The pain and burning from the acid poops will be gone within a few minutes. I kid you not - this is THE best! It's inexpensive too!

Take care of yourself and ask any question you have no matter how gross cause "WE'RE THE POTTY PEOPLE"!!!

Pleased to meet ya!

Fortunately I cant remember how that burn felt---being I am pretty well NORMALIZED

What I do use are the *wipes* and they are terrific too--

Here's a natural soother....there is no cure, ha ha!! Anyway....I take about 6 drops of tea tree oil and 3 drops of chamomile oil mix with 6 drops of grapeseed oil and dab it on the bottom. I also use cortisone cream sometimes. Love Oma

Hi Poopsie and welcome to our family. While in the hospital after a six week bout of D and a weight lose of 15 pounds I was given a tube of Calmoseptine. It immediately relieved the sore bottom and healed it completely within 24 hours. I felt like I must look like one of those Baboons with the red behinds......at least it felt like they look. It was a 4oz. tube, RX, and lasts forever. Hope you find some relief from all these good peoples recommendations. Best wishes, Carol

Hi Poopsie,

The penguins represent certain thresholds in the number of posts that each member has written. They are updated automatically by the system.

The stars represent membership anniversaries. IOW, a star is automatically added for each year of membership.

If I remember correctly, Liz, (in Australia), originally found the :coolpenguin: emoticon. She comes up with some good ones.
